Are you a voice teacher or conductor interested in working with our singers?   

We aim to have 2-4 equal-status co-directors, each of whom would direct all three groups on their chosen Saturday or Sunday rehearsals.  The curriculum and rehearsal plans would be already established  - planning not necessary.  Co-directors would have the opportunity to enjoy these elite singers without having to commit to rehearsals every week.  Once established, co-directors would be encouraged to collaborate on repertoire.   

Each month has about 6 rehearsals - so co-directors would be invited to direct 1 to 3 rehearsals a month - Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons (each day about 3 hours).   We think a diversity in teacher perspectives is a benefit to our singers.  Directors should demonstrate an exceptional understanding of the child and adolescent voice as well as its developmental idiosyncrasies.   

Pay is hourly for rehearsals and concerts, with additional bonuses for public performances. 
Co-directors can choose 1099 or W2 status  - whichever they prefer. 
The YSSJ is sponsored by AfterSchool Music and is well-funded.  Hourly rate for co-conductors can be discussed at the interview - as a new organization, we plan to set a minimum hourly in the $35-$50 range that will be increased as the choirs grow.
